Explanatory Note
This Bill permits compensation to be paid to workers with a permanent physical injury but
no loss of earnings or demonstrable impairment of earning capacity. This will be continued by
the new Workers' Compensation Act which comes into force February 1, 1996.
An Act to Amend Chapter 508
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Workers' Compensation Act
Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:
1 (1) Subsection 45(2) of Chapter 508 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Workers'
Compensation Act, is amended by striking out "is capable of impairing his earning capacity" in
the last line and substituting "causes a permanent medical impairment".
(2) Subsection 45(3) of Chapter 508 is repealed.
(3) Section 45 of Chapter 508 is deemed to have always read as amended by this
Section.
