The Honourable Pat Dunn was first elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly as MLA for Pictou Centre in 2006 and was re-elected in 2013, 2017, and 2021.

He has served as Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage, Minister of African Nova Scotian Affairs, Minister of Health Promotion and Protection, Minister of Volunteerism.

He is a former teacher, principal and school administrator.
