Claudia Chender (MLA Elect)
Claudia Chender is the MLA for Dartmouth South and was acclaimed as the New Democratic Party Leader in 2022. She was first elected in 2017 and was re-elected in 2024.
Ms. Chender is the first female elected leader of the opposition.
Claudia has a wide range of experience as a lawyer with experience in business, non-profit, and publishing.
Claudia is an engaged community member and mother of three school-aged children. She is a vocal advocate for the residents of Dartmouth South, and for the promotion of the vibrant, eclectic, and locally owned and supported downtown Dartmouth business community.
