Honourable Brendan Maguire
The Honourable Brendan Maguire was first elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly as MLA for Halifax Atlantic in 2013 and was re-elected in 2017 and 2021 as a Liberal. On February 22, 2024 he crossed the floor to join the Progressive Conservative Caucus. He was re-elected in 2024.
Mr. Maguire is the Government House Leader.
He has been Deputy Speaker, Minister of Municipal Affairs, Minister of Community Services, and Minister of Advanced Education.
He has worked as a sales representative and as a technician for the Halifax Water Commission.
He is Vice Chair of the Internal Affairs Committee. He is a member of the Assembly Matters Committee. He is also a member of the House of Assembly Management Commission.
