[The committee members introduced themselves.]

That concludes our appointments to agencies, boards, and commissions. We’ll move on to other business.

First, the letter that was sent to our committee from Greg Jones from some questions that arose from our last meeting in Human Resources around fire departments. Did everyone receive the letters forwarded by our clerk? Is there any discussion on the letter? Seeing no discussion, we’ll move on from that.

We’ll announce our next meeting is on Tuesday, April 25th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This will be our last end-of-the-month meeting. As you remember, we moved our committee meetings to the first Tuesday of each month, so this would be our last one on the end of the month. The topic then will be the Impact of Low Wages on Labour Shortages. The witnesses will be the Department of Labour, Skills and Immigration, Minimum Wage Review Committee, and Canadian Federation of Independent Business.

Our meeting after that is May 2nd from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The topic is Training and Educational Partnerships: Training Initiatives for Physicians, Nurses, and CCAs. Witnesses will be the Department of Advanced Education, the Department of Health and Wellness, the Department of Seniors and Long-term Care, NSCC School of Health and Human Services, and Health Association Nova Scotia.

Just to note, if the House of Assembly is still sitting on April 25th, then the April topic will be moved to May 2nd, and the May topic will be rescheduled to sometime in the Fall.

With that being said, there’s no other business. We’ll call the meeting adjourned.

[The committee adjourned at 10:05 a.m.]
