Explanatory Notes
(a) makes the Act gender neutral; and
(b) raises from $250,000 to $5,000,000 the maximum value of real estate that may be held.
(a) requires the Trustees to award qualified applicant congregations amounts totalling not less than 80% of the income generated each year from the Hunter Church Building Fund's investments; and
(b) confirms the validity of previous actions by the Trustees.
Clause 3 repeals a provision that is rendered redundant by Clause 2.
An Act to Amend Chapter 81
of the Acts of 1876,
An Act to Incorporate the Trustees
of the Hunter Church Building Fund
Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:
1 Section 1 of Chapter 81 of the Acts of 1876, An Act to Incorporate the Trustees of the Hunter Church Building Fund, as amended by Chapter 179 of the Acts of 1898, is further amended by
(b) striking out "two hundred and fifty thousand" and substituting "five million".
2 Chapter 81 is further amended by adding immediately after Section 2A the following Sections:
- 2B The Trustees shall award qualified applicant congregations amounts totalling not less than eighty per cent of the income generated each year from the Corporation's investments.
2C All acts, proceedings, investments, actions and suits taken, made or brought, and all documents, deeds, mortgages and bonds executed by or to the Trustees and their successors in office in relation to the funds entrusted to them, since the passing of this Act are legalized, ratified and confirmed as if all the amendments made to this Act formed part of this Act at the date of its passing.
3 Section 2 of Chapter 179 of the Acts of 1898, An Act to amend Chapter 81 of the Acts of 1876, entitled "An Act to incorporate the trustees of the Hunter Church Building Fund." is repealed.
