Explanatory Note

This Bill authorizes lower speed limits in daycare areas as is permitted at present in school areas.

An Act to Amend Chapter 293
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Motor Vehicle Act,
Respecting Speed Limits near Daycares

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 103 of Chapter 293 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Motor Vehicle Act, as amended by Chapter 23 of the Acts of 1995-96 and Chapter 46 of the Acts of 2011, is further amended by renumbering subsection (1) as subsection (1A) and adding immediately before subsection (1A), as renumbered, the following subsection:

(1) In this Section, "school" includes a daycare.
