An Act to Expand Breast Screening
for High Breast Density Patients
1 This Act may be cited as the Find It Early Act.
"eligible patient" means a patient diagnosed with category C or D breast density;
"supplementary screening" means imaging adjunct to mammography for eligible patients.
3 (1) Subject to Section 4, the Minister of Health and Wellness shall ensure that a supplementary screening program is implemented in the Province no later than September 1, 2024.
(2) Under the supplementary screening program, upon request by an eligible patient or an eligible patient's healthcare provider, the eligible patient must be referred for supplementary screening without delay.
4 The money required for the purpose of this Act must be paid out of money appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.
