An Act to Expand at-Home Testing
for Human Papillomavirus

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the HPV at-Home Testing Act.

2 In this Act,

(a) "at-home test" means a self-swab test for HPV that can be used at home by an eligible person;

(b) "eligible person" means a resident of the Province who has a cervix and is at least 25 years of age;

(c) "HPV" means human papillomavirus;

(d) "program" means the at-home HPV testing program established under subsection 3(1).

3 (1) Subject to Section 4, the Minister of Health and Wellness shall establish an at-home HPV testing program.

(2) The program must ensure that every eligible person is provided with an at-home test at least once every five years.

(3) The Department of Health and Wellness shall fully fund and manage all aspects of the program, including the processing and providing of at-home test results.

4 The money required for the purpose of this Act must be paid out of money appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.
