An Act Respecting Accessibility
and Affordability of Heat

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Affordable Heat Act.

2 In this Act, "output-based pricing system" has the same meaning as in Part XIB of the Environment Act.

3 Subject to Section 4, any revenue associated with compliance with a performance standard under the output-based pricing system must go towards making clean heat options more accessible and affordable for residents of the Province.

4 The money required for the purpose of this Act must be paid out of money appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.
