Explanatory Note

This Bill sets the fees a juror is entitled to at not less than $100 per day.

An Act to Amend Chapter 16
of the Acts of 1998,
the Juries Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 20 of Chapter 16 of the Acts of 1998, the Juries Act, is amended by adding immediately after subsection (1) the following subsections:

    (1A) Subject to subsection (1B), the amount prescribed pursuant to subsection (1) may not be less than one hundred dollars per day.

    (1B) The money required for the purpose of subsection (1A) must be paid out of money appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.
