Explanatory Note
(a) prohibits the display or broadcast of gambling advertisements in places or through mediums, prescribed by the regulations, where persons under the age of majority are likely to be influenced by the advertisements; and
(b) exempts activities, prescribed by the regulations, aimed at raising funds for a community benefit from gambling advertisement prohibitions.
An Act to Amend Chapter 4
of the Acts of 1994-95,
the Gaming Control Act
1 Chapter 4 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Gaming Control Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 67B the following heading and Section:
- 67C (1) No advertisements for gambling, including advertisements for gaming, lottery schemes and betting, may be displayed or broadcast in places or through mediums, prescribed by the regulations, where persons under the age of majority are likely to be influenced by the advertisements.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply to advertisements for any activities, prescribed by the regulations, aimed at raising funds for a community benefit.
- (ata) prescribing places or mediums where gambling advertisements are likely to influence persons under the age of majority and may not be displayed or broadcast;
(atb) prescribing activities aimed at raising funds for a community benefit that are exempt from gambling advertisement prohibitions;
