Explanatory Note

This Bill eliminates the taxes on gasoline and diesel oil for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 fiscal years of the Province.

An Act to Amend Chapter 17
of the Acts of 1995-96,
the Revenue Act,
to Suspend Provincial Motive Fuel Taxes

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 17 of the Acts of 1995-96, the Revenue Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 8 the following Section:

    8A Notwithstanding Sections 6 and 8, no tax is payable under those Sections for gasoline and diesel oil sold from and including April 1, 2023, to and including March 31, 2025.
