Explanatory Note
This Bill ensures qualified leadership of a health-care administrator of a health authority.
An Act Amend Chapter 32
of the Acts of 2014,
the Health Authorities Act,
to Ensure the Needs of the Patient Come First
Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:
1 Section 10 of Chapter 32 of the Acts of 2014, the Health Authorities Act, is amended by adding immediately after subsection (2) the following subsections:
- (2A) An administrator appointed pursuant to subsection (2) must have expertise in the health-care field and have health-care administration experience.
(2B) An administrator appointed pursuant to subsection (2) shall lead with a patient-centred approach, always placing the needs of the patient first.
