Explanatory Note

This Bill amends the Community Colleges Act to prohibit the charging of tuition fees beginning in the 2023 academic year.

An Act to Amend Chapter 4
of the Acts of 1995-96,
the Community Colleges Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Clause 63(1)(o) of Chapter 4 of the Acts of 1995-96, the Community Colleges Act, is repealed.

2 Chapter 4 is further amended by adding immediately after Section 70 the following Section:

    70A The College may not charge students a tuition fee.

3 This Act has effect on and after August 1, 2023.
