An Act on the Status
of Palliative Care in Nova Scotia
1 This Act may be cited as the Palliative Care Act.
2 In this Act, "Minister" means the Minister of Health and Wellness.
(a) an update on the Nova Scotia Palliative Care Strategy Implementation Progress Report of 2014-2015;
(b) an outline of and update on the status of palliative care services in long-term care; and
(c) an outline of and update on the Emergency Health Services Special Patient Program.
4 The Minister shall table the reports prepared under Section 3 in the House of Assembly within six months after this Act comes into force, if the Assembly is then sitting, or where the House is not then sitting, file the reports with the Clerk of the Assembly.
5 The Minister shall post the reports prepared under Section 3 on the Department of Health and Wellness website within 10 days of tabling or filing them pursuant to Section 4.
