Explanatory Note

This Bill requires trauma-informed practices to be part of a professional development programs for teachers.

An Act to Amend Schedule A of Chapter 1
of the Acts of 2018, the Education Act,
and Chapter 1 of the Acts of 1995-96,
the Education (CSAP) Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Schedule A of Chapter 1 of the Acts of 2018, the Education Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 42 the following Section:

42A Professional development programs for teachers must include one day on trauma-informed practices.

2 Chapter 1 of the Acts of the Acts of 1995-96, the Education (CSAP) Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 26 the following Section:

26A Professional development programs for teachers must include one day on trauma-informed practices.
