Explanatory Note

This Bill requires the Minister to fund one piece of playground equipment designed for children below the age of five at each school offering a pre-primary education program.

An Act to Amend Chapter 44
of the Acts of 2005,
the Pre-primary Education Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 44 of the Acts of 2005, the Pre-primary Education Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 3B the following Section:

3C (1) Subject to subsection (2), the Minister shall provide funding to the school advisory council for each school in which a pre-primary education program is offered for the purchase of one piece of playground equipment designed for children below the age of five.

(2) The money required for the purpose of this Section must be paid out of money appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.
