An Act to Amend Chapter 71
of the Acts of 1993,
the Community of Sackville
Landfill Compensation Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 2 of Chapter 71 of the Acts 1993, the Community of Sackville Landfill Compensation Act, as amended by Chapter 3 of the Acts of 1995, is further amended by

(a) adding immediately after clause (a) the following clause:

(aa) "bursary" means a monetary award granted to a student of a post-secondary educational institution;

and

(b) striking out clause (c) and substituting the following clause:

(c) "Community of Sackville" means the area comprising District 14 (Middle/Upper Sackville–Beaver Bank–Lucasville) and District 15 (Lower Sackville) of the Municipality or that area as modified from time to time by the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board.

2 Chapter 71 is further amended by adding immediately after Section 3 the following Section:

3A (1) The Municipality may establish and administer a bursary fund held in trust for the Community of Sackville.

(2) The Community Council may establish terms of reference for the bursary fund.

(3) The Municipality may pay money from the Fund into the bursary fund in accordance with directions given to the Municipality by the Community Council.

(4) The Municipality may pay bursaries from the bursary fund in accordance with the terms of reference.

3 (1) Clause 1(a) and Section 2 have effect on and after November 25, 1993.

(2) Clause 1(b) has effect on and after December 20, 2011.
