Electricity Act
(amended)

Explanatory Note
(a) classifies hydroelectricity as renewable electricity, for the purpose of meeting renewable electricity targets, whether generated in or imported into Nova Scotia; and
(b) replaces the expression "renewable energy" with "renewable electricity" for consistency of language.
An Act to Amend Chapter 25
of the Acts of 2004,
the Electricity Act
(a) adding "(1)" immediately after the Section number; and
(b) adding the following subsection:
2 (1) Subsection 4(1) of Chapter 25 is amended by striking out "energy" in the third line and substituting "electricity" .
(2) Subsection 4(2) of Chapter 25 is amended by striking out "energy" in the first line and substituting "electricity" .
3 Subsection 5(1) of Chapter 25, as amended by Chapter 14 of the Acts of 2010, is further amended by
(a) adding "2(2)," immediately after "subsections" in the first line of clause (a);
(b) striking out "energy" in the first line of clause (d) and substituting "electricity";
(c) striking out "energy" in the first line of clause (dr) and substituting "electricity";
(d) striking out "energy" in the second line of clause (ds) and substituting "electricity"; and
(e) striking out "energy" in the second line of clause (dt) and substituting "electricity".
