Explanatory Note
This Bill amends the Employment Support and Income Assistance Act to provide that the Minister cannot consider the caregiver allowance when determining the eligibility of a person for assistance or the level of assistance for that person under the Act or any other enactment.
An Act to Amend Chapter 27
of the Acts of 2000,
the Employment Support
and Income Assistance Act
1 Chapter 27 of the Acts of 2000, the Employment Support and Income Assistance Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 7 the following Section:
(a) chargeable income pursuant to subsection 47(2) of the Employment Support and Income Assistance Regulations nor as an applicable asset pursuant to Section 54 of those regulations; or
(b) income, assets or other resources under any other enactment,
in determining the eligibility of a person for income assistance or employment services or the level of income assistance to that person under this Act or any other enactment administered by the Minister.
