Explanatory Note

This Bill removes the requirement for Cabinet approval of certain names.

An Act to Amend Chapter 335
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Partnerships and Business Names
Registration Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Subsection 4(3) of Chapter 335 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Partnerships and Business Names Registration Act, is amended by

(a) striking out "Except with the consent of the Governor in Council, no" in the first and second lines and substituting "No"; and

(b) striking out "which contains the word "Royal" or "Imperial" or" in the third line.

2 This Act comes into force on such day as the Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.
