An Act to Require a Consultation Process
Respecting the Accessibility
of Mental Healthcare Services in Nova Scotia

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Mental Healthcare Accessibility Act.

2 Subject to Section 3, the Government shall establish a process for consulting

(a) mental healthcare service-providers;

(b) community groups;

(c) mental healthcare consumers; and

(d) district health authorities,

respecting accessibility to mental healthcare services in the Province and shall, within one year after the coming into force of this Act, develop a mental healthcare action plan for the Province.

3 The moneys required for the purpose of this Act shall be paid out of moneys appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.
