Clause 1 requires the council of a municipality to maintain records of material submitted by developers or referred to in reports to council and make it available to the public.

Clause 2 requires the council of a municipality to notify property owners and tenants of planning issues by posting a sign on the property.

An Act to Amend Chapter 18
of the Acts of 1998,
the Municipal Government Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 34 of Chapter 18 of the Acts of 1998, the Municipal Government Act, is amended by adding immediately after subsection (2) the following subsections:

(2A) Council shall ensure that copies of any materials submitted by developers or referred to in reports to council are maintained.

(2B) Council shall ensure that the materials referred to in subsection (2A) shall be made available to the public for inspection.

2 Section 221 of Chapter 18 is amended by adding immediately after subsection (1) the following subsections:

(1A) A council shall notify property owners and tenants of a requested by-law amendment, development agreement or amendment to a development agreement that they are affected by.

(1B) Notice under subsection (1A) may be provided by posting a sign on the affected property describing the requested by-law amendment, development agreement or amendment to a development agreement.
