Explanatory Note

This Bill requires the Director of Maintenance Enforcement, where a person is in arrears for more than six months on their maintenance payments, to pass on this information to the person's credit rating agency.

An Act to Amend Chapter 6
of the Acts of 1994-95,
the Maintenance and Enforcement Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Subsection 32(1) of Chapter 6 of the Acts of 1994-95, the Maintenance Enforcement Act, as amended by Chapter 30 of the Acts of 1998 and Chapter 40 of the Acts of 2004, is further amended by adding immediately after clause (a) the following clause:

(ab) where the payor is in arrears for more than six months, the Director shall report that to a payor's credit rating agency;
