An Act to Enhance Breast Screenings

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Enhancement of Breast Screenings Act.

2 In this Act, "eligible patient" means an individual diagnosed with category C or D breast density.

3 Subject to Section 4, the Minister of Health and Wellness shall ensure that

(a) all eligible patients are provided with a referral for a breast screening ultrasound; and

(b) breast screening ultrasounds are considered routine care for eligible patients.

4 The money required for the purpose of this Act must be paid out of money appropriated for that purpose by the Legislature.

5 This Act has effect on and after January 1, 2026.
