Explanatory Note

This Bill requires all advertisements for residential premises to disclose the rent payable, including any additional fees.

An Act to Amend Chapter 401
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Residential Tenancies Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 401 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Residential Tenancies Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 6 the following heading and Section:

REQUIREMENT FOR ADVERTISEMENT

    6A No person shall advertise residential tenancies for rent without the inclusion of a statement disclosing the rent payable, including any additional fees related to the renting of the residential premises.
