Explanatory Note

This Bill requires nursing homes to maintain staff care levels of at least 4.1 hours of care per day per resident.

An Act to Amend Chapter 203
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Homes for Special Care Act,
Respecting Staff Levels

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 203 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Homes for Special Care Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 3 the following Section:

    3A A nursing home shall maintain staff care levels of combined Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Continuing Care Assistants sufficient to satisfy at least 4.1 hours of care per day per resident.
