An Act to Require Reporting
Respecting the Health-care Crisis

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 This Act may be cited as the Health-care Crisis Reporting Act.

2 In this Act, "specialty" includes family practice.

3 The Minister of Health and Wellness shall publish weekly a report respecting

(a) the number of physicians in each specialty who have left practice in the Province in the past month and cumulatively for the year;

(b) the number of physicians in each specialty who have been successfully recruited in the past month and cumulatively for the year to practise in the Province, including the community in which their services are or will be available;

(c) the number and location by community of new nursing-home beds opened in the past month and cumulatively for the year;

(d) the hours of emergency room closures by location in the past month and cumulatively for the year;

(e) the number, location and duration of code census instances in the past month and cumulatively for the year; and

(f) the number of persons presenting at emergency rooms with mental disorders or episodes of psychological distress in the past month and cumulatively for the year.
