Maintenance and Custody Act

Clause 1 adds a definition of "grandparents" to the Maintenance and Custody Act.Clause 2 provides for grandparent access orders, sets out the matters the court must consider in making a grandparent access order and provides that a person who has custody of a child shall not unreasonably place obstacles to personal contact between the child and the child's grandparents.
1 Section 2 of Chapter 160 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Maintenance and Custody Act, as amended by Chapter 3 of the Acts of 1997 (2nd Session) and Chapter 29 of the Acts of 2000, is further amended by adding immediately after clause (d) the following clause:
