Explanatory Notes
Clause 1 updates a reference to the formerly named Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
Clause 2 corrects a cross-reference. Clauses 3 and 4 transfer to the Minister of Agriculture from the Governor in Council the authority to make certain regulations.An Act to Amend Chapter 8
of the Acts of 2001,
the Livestock Health Services Act
2 Clause 9(b) of Chapter 8 is amended by striking out "1(c)" in the second line and substituting "6(1)(c)".
3 Chapter 8 is further amended by adding immediately after Section 15 the following Section:(a) prescribing the minimum or maximum fees that may be charged to livestock owners by any veterinarian in receipt of assistance under an agreement;
(b) prescribing the maximum amount that may be paid to veterinarians.
(2) The exercise by the Minister of the authority contained in subsection (1) is regulations within the meaning of the Regulations Act.
4 Clauses 16(1)(a) and (c) of Chapter 8 are repealed.
5 This Act comes into force on such day as the Governor in Council orders and declares by proclamation.
