Chapter 47 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia for 1948 divided Pictou County into three electoral districts: Pictou West, Pictou East and Pictou Centre. \ \ Pictou Centre consisted of that portion of the County of Pictou contained in the towns of New Glasgow, Stellarton, Trenton and Westville.
