Chapter 27 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia for 1955 divided the County of Lunenburg into three electoral districts: Lunenburg East, Lunenburg Centre, and Lunenburg West. Lunenburg West consisted of that portion of the County of Lunenburg contained in the polling districts Eight, Nine, Thirteen and Fifteen, and the town of Bridgewater. In 2003,Lunenburg West loses an area south of the 103 from Risser's Beach Provincial Park to the Queens County line, including Italy Cross. (SNS, 2002 c. 34). In 2013, following the recommendation of the Electoral Boundaries Commission, this district regained the remainder of Lunenburg County from Queens
