SNS 1966, c.34) created the electoral district Halifax County South, which was subsequently changed to Halifax Atlantic in 1967. In 2013, following the review of the Electoral Boundaries Commission, this district gained a small number of streets in the Williamswood and Harrietsfiedl areas from Timberlea-Porspect. It lost the area east of Herring Cove Road and north of Frog pond Park to Halifax Fairview.
