Upon the recommendations of the 1992 Electoral Boundaries Report, the name of Cumberland East was changed to Cumberland North. Boundaries changed to include the area north of the Trans-Canada Highway (excepting Oxford), formerly part of Cumberland West. In 2013, follwowing the recommendation of the Electoral Boundaries Commission, this area lost the area south of the Nappan River to Cumberland South.
