Explanatory Note

This Bill requires all day-care spaces subsidized by the Province to be portable.

An Act to Amend Chapter 120
of the Revised Statutes, 1989,
the Day Care Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 2 of Chapter 120 of the Revised Statutes, 1989, the Day Care Act, is amended by

(a) striking out the period at the end of clause (e) and substituting a semicolon; and

(b) adding immediately following clause (e) the following clauses:

(f) "portable space" means a day-care space for a child at any licensed facility in the Province selected by the child's parent;
(g) "subsidized" "means subsidized by Her Majesty in right of the Province.
2 All subsidized day-care spaces must be portable spaces.
