Explanatory Note

This Bill sets the municipal taxes on the Maritime Oddfellows' Home in the Town of Pictou for this and the next three taxation years at $10,000 per year. Thereafter the taxes would be determined in the regular way at residential rates.

An Act to Amend Chapter 134
of the Acts of 1923,
An Act to Incorporate
the Maritime Oddfellows' Home

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Section 8 of Chapter 134 of the Acts of 1923, An Act to Incorporate the Maritimes Oddfellows' Home, as enacted by Chapter 166 of the Acts of 1925, is repealed and the following Section substituted:

8 Notwithstanding any other Act, the taxes payable to the Town of Pictou on the real property of the Maritime Oddfellows' Home in the Town of Pictou from April 1, 2003, until March 31, 2007, is $10,000 for each municipal taxation year.
