Cole Harbour Honourable Darrell Dexter NDP
The Honourable Darrell Dexter was sworn in as the 27th Premier of the province of Nova Scotia on June 19, 2009.
He was first elected to the Nova Scotia House of Assembly as MLA for Dartmouth Cole-Harbour in 1998 and was re-elected in 1999 and 2003 and again as MLA for Cole Harbour in 2006 and 2009.
Before his election as an MLA, Darrell was a Dartmouth City Councillor and is a lawyer.
He became leader of the New Democratic Party in 2001 and Premier on June 19, 2009.
