The Collection

The library collection provides access to accurate and in-depth information required by Members of the House of Assembly in order to perform their duties effectively. Materials are collected on a broad range of subjects, with a primary focus on public administration and policy concerns. The Library has extensive holdings of government publications, books, periodicals, and newspapers, as well as microforms, maps, and electronic documents. The main subject areas of the collection are: parliamentary procedure, politics, public administration, economic and social issues, and Novascotiana. The Reference collection contains a variety of quick information sources such as almanacs, parliamentary guides, directories, books of quotations, encyclopedias, and dictionaries.
